The Setup and Murder
The crime began with a call from a woman with a fake accent requesting a $1 million home. Despite Lindsay's concerns, her boyfriend Jason Zailo encouraged the showing and waited outside. Lindsay met a man and woman at 1702 De Sousa Place; moments later, Jason discovered her body upstairs. She had been stabbed multiple times with no defensive wounds. There was no evidence of theft or sexual assault, suggesting a targeted execution.
Investigation and Theories
Jason Zailo was cleared following an alibi and polygraph. A key piece of evidence was a burner phone registered to a "Paulo Rodriguez," used exclusively for the crime, alongside a second phone checking voicemail. While a drug cartel theory was explored and dismissed, investigators believe the crime was highly organized and likely involved someone with inside information regarding Lindsay’s schedule.
Current Status
